About Kingfield Pops

Tickets Go on Sale April 1st

Kingfield POPS is Maine’s premier outdoor summer concert, showcasing regional musicians, youth performers, and the Bangor Symphony Orchestra in a unique venue: a large open air field nestled at the foot of Mount Abram in Kingfield. A fun-filled family event that draws an audience from across the United States, the show concludes with a stunning firework display against the mountains.

The Kingfield POPS began in 2003 and has hosted the summer concert annually, with a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The POPS also supports the arts for the youngest members of our communities by working with the area school districts, offering an instrument repair and loan program and bringing visual and performing arts into the schools.

The POPS is committed to creating and supporting a vibrant local arts environment that enhances both quality of life and economic growth in the Western Mountains while celebrating our heritage, our families, and all that life has to offer.

Our School Programs

Kingfield POPS benefits music and art programs in our community

Kingfield POPS School Programming seeks to collaborate with generous benefactors to bestow opportunities upon Franklin County student artists and musicians, both emerging and accomplished. Our goal is to provide opportunities to develop their talents and collaborate with established performers, as well as to provide further community enrichment for all in the areas of visual and performing arts.

We are currently excited to be engaging in the following opportunities for our student artists and community members:

  • Supplying previously loved instruments for our student musicians
  • Providing raw materials for our student artists
  • Hiring musicians/artists to provide in-school workshops throughout the year
  • Organizing and sponsoring field trips to music events and art centers (ie. to Bangor Symphony Orchestra and the Waterville Opera House)
  • Collaborating with student-centered music programs throughout the State of Maine
  • Sponsoring students to attend summer music camps
  • Scholarships for graduates seeking a 2-4 year degree in the Performing Arts
  • Providing opportunities for student musicians to perform on stage at the Kingfield POPs annual June concert event
  • Building other pathways for students to enter the field of Music/Art
  • Hosting music, art, and performing art events in the community

From set-up and ticket sales to coordinating vendors there are many ways to get involved!
